Incident Details:
On October 17, 2024, at approximately 05:09 PM, officers responded to a shoplifting incident at a store on Highway 95 North. The suspect had failed to pay for several items on September 1, 2024, by not scanning them at the self-checkout before exiting the store.
During the October 17th incident, store personnel contacted officers upon recognizing the suspect, who had been involved in eight prior shoplifting cases at the same store. The suspect was observed using a repeated method: holding two items together and scanning only one at the self-checkout, leaving the second item unpaid.
When approached by officers near the deli section, the suspect became argumentative. Officers handcuffed her and escorted her to the patrol vehicle after she continued to be aggressive. Officers then gathered video evidence and documentation for all eight incidents, spanning from August 14, 2024, to October 13, 2024. The suspect was trespassed indefinitely from the store.
After hyperventilating in the patrol vehicle, the suspect declined medical attention and was transported to the Lake Havasu City jail, where she was booked, cited, and held for court. Items stolen included a $4.98 box of gourmet peanut brittle.
