Incident Details:
On September 20, 2024, at approximately 12:05 PM, officers arrested a suspect in the parking lot of Lake Havasu Avenue South following a road rage incident involving the reckless display of a firearm. The suspect, driving a white Plymouth van, reportedly pointed a black revolver at the victim at a stop sign located at Acoma Boulevard South and Jamaica Boulevard South. The victim had his 1-year-old child seated in the backseat during the incident.
The incident began near Mulberry Avenue and Lake Havasu Avenue South. Officers located both the suspect’s van and the victim’s vehicle, an orange Jeep, traveling northbound on Lake Havasu Avenue. The suspect was stopped, and officers discovered the revolver on the vehicle’s floorboard. It was secured in the patrol car for the duration of the investigation.
The victim recounted that the altercation started when the van began brake-checking him, continuing to do so until they reached the stop sign. At the stop, the suspect verbally harassed the victim and pointed a revolver directly at him. Officers confirmed the revolver to be a six-shot .357 Magnum, matching the description provided.
The suspect admitted to displaying the firearm but could not provide a clear justification for doing so. Following the investigation, the suspect was arrested, handcuffed, and transported to the Lake Havasu City jail, where he was booked for disorderly conduct involving a weapon. The van was towed from the scene, and the firearm was booked into evidence.
