Incident Details:
On October 17, 2024, at approximately 05:09 PM, officers arrested a suspect at a retail store on Highway 95 North for shoplifting. The suspect had previously been involved in multiple theft incidents at the same store, spanning from August 14 to October 13, 2024. In each case, the suspect scanned only one of two bundled items at the self-checkout, leaving the other unpaid.
On this occasion, the suspect was caught placing a jar of marinara sauce into a bag along with a frying pan but only scanning the pan. After paying for the scanned items, the suspect attempted to leave the store without paying for the sauce. Store personnel contacted law enforcement upon recognizing the individual.
The suspect initially became argumentative but was eventually escorted to the patrol vehicle, where she hyperventilated. Officers adjusted her handcuffs to the front for comfort, and she declined medical attention. Video evidence and sales records from all prior incidents were collected and added to the case file.
The individual was transported to the Lake Havasu City jail for booking, citation, and court proceedings. She was also indefinitely trespassed from the store, with the terms explained and acknowledged.
