At 1:24 PM, Police Department and Fire Department units were dispatched to the 3000 block of Arapaho Dr in response to reports of an oven fire inside a residence. The occupants of the home are evacuating, and the Fire Department is advising them to close the oven door to help prevent the fire from spreading further. Emergency services are on their way to address the situation and ensure the safety of everyone involved.
By 1:27 PM, it was reported by a bystander, who had entered the residence, that there were no visible flames, only heavy smoke emanating from the oven. Shortly thereafter, at 1:32 PM, Police Department units on the scene confirmed that there was no active fire.
The situation was clarified at 1:39 PM when it was discovered that two juveniles had been cooking, and some plastic material had fallen to the bottom of the oven, causing heavy smoke but no flames. It was determined there was no emergency, and Engine 3 could manage the situation on its own. Consequently, all other dispatched units were cancelled.
