On Saturday (9/23), Deputies with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Division of Boating Safety and Dive Rescue Team responded to the area of Standard Wash Cove in the southern portion of Lake Havasu in reference to reports of a drowning.

Once on scene, a Rescue Diver from The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department was deployed and located the victim in 18 feet of water. The victim, identified as Ethan Aguilar, 24 of Kingman, was brought to the surface where CPR was initiated. He was transported to Cattail Cove State Park to awaiting medical personnel, where he was pronounced deceased.

Through investigations, it was determined that the victim jumped from a 20 to 30 foot cliff and when he hit the water, he began to struggle. The victim then went below the water’s surface. The victim was not wearing a personal flotation device. This incident is still under investigation.
